An England tour with Costsaver has all the iconic sights included, from the thrilling Tower of London to the ancient streets of York.
This mighty fortress is one of the most lavish places to visit in England and has been the home of kings and queens for nearly 1,000 years. It’s now the oldest and largest lived-in castle in the world and we'll take you to view it in all its glory.
Take a medieval journey through York to the impressive York Minster, the 13th-century Gothic cathedral that towers over the city. Admire the beautiful stained glass windows and hear tales of Romans, roses and ghosts. You can even walk along The Shambles, a street so old it was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.
Wind your way through the lush green countryside to Stratford-upon-Avon, the medieval town where England’s favourite storyteller was born and laid to rest. You can delve into his life and imagine you’re in a midsummer’s night dream, as many of the streets and squares remain as they were in the time of Shakespeare.
Create your own rules on a tailor made holiday to England with our range of Optional Experiences. Choose from adventures like exploring Wray Castle and taking a steam train journey from Lakeside to Haverthwaite.

I grew up in London and one of my favorite places to go when I've been away for a while is the Southbank. A wander down this side of the Thames lets you see some of London's famous landmarks - Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. There is amazing street food and plenty of places to perch outside with a glass of something fruity when the sun is shining. If you're after something quirkier, spend an hour at the Namco Funscape arcade - jump in the bumper cars and play the claw machine to your heart's content.
A British pub-food staple, you can't go past a traditional cottage pie served hot! A generations-old favourite, its story began as a clever idea of housewives, to create a warm and hearty meal from leftovers like cooked beef or lamb, packed with vegetables like peas and carrots, and lashings of mashed potatoes. Delicious!
It doesn’t get more British than scones and tea! If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, head to your local cafe and pick out a classic English scone - the best kinds are fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, and smothered with clotted cream and jam - and wash it all down with a steaming pot of tea.
These baked pockets of heaven are made from shortcrust pastry filled with a mix of beef, potatoes, onions, swede and egg. When cooked together it forms a rich gravy, sealed in its own delicious wrapping. The traditional Cornish pasty originated as the portable lunch of Cornish tin miners who couldn’t return to the surface at lunchtime.
Whether you want to go city sightseeing or explore the countryside, there’s always a good time for a trip to England.
England’s cities have something to offer whatever the weather. Expect breezy beer gardens in summer and cosy pubs in winter, while autumn and spring offer pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds.
You’re more likely to get blue skies and sunshine in the summer months of June, July and August, but it’s also great to visit England’s historic sites in the milder days of autumn and spring.
From the Cotswolds to the Lake District, England is packed with gorgeous walking trails and charming countryside. It’s best to get out there in the summer months, but we also love the autumn leaves or lush springtime.
Before you hop in a taxi for one, think about taking the Tube on your London trip. This underground metro system can take you all over the London region in a cheaper and more local way.
Help keep England beautiful by making sure you take all your rubbish with you and reduce your plastic waste by reusing bags and bottles.
Head to the charming town pub for a Sunday Roast, or the local fish ‘n chips shop for a newspaper filled with greasy goodness. You’ll get to meet the friendly locals and see the real England.
