When you picture Barcelona you think of Antoni Gaudi, the 20th century architect who left his Art Nouveau mark on the city. The La Sagrada Familia is one of his greatest works and has been inspiring crowds since construction began in 1882. The ambience will take you back to your childhood while waiting for your cone of pure goodness. Then walk around the area to savour some of the views of the city.

The City of Arts and Sciences is an ensemble of 6 areas in the dry river bed of Turia. Designed by Valencian architect, it is an impressive example of modern architecture. The "city" is made up of an opera house, performing arts centre, IMAX Cinema, planetarium, science museum, and an open-air aquarium. Come here any time of day or night with your fellow Costsaver guests and you are guaranteed to be amazed!

Park Guell is one of the quirkiest places I have ever visited in my life. Not only will you feel as though you have stepped into some kind of psychedelic fairytale, you will also be gifted with an incredible sweeping view of Barcelona from above (provided you are willing to brave the steps).
A cold soup may come as a shock, but it will all make sense as you slurp into this tomato-y dish in the sizzling Seville sun. Andalusia’s beloved Gazpacho is a chilled soup made from raw, blended vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers and we think it’s the most refreshing part of the day.
Sangria is the fruity national symbol of Spain and there’s nothing better than kicking back with a cold glass (or jug!) of this delicious wine punch on your Spain tour. The recipes for sangria vary all over the country, but you can bet you’ll love this cooling beverage made with fruit and alcohols like red or white wine, cava or even cider.
These tasty street treats are Spain’s amazing answer to doughnuts. They’re made from fried dough cut into long sausage shapes and smothered in cinnamon sugar. Don’t forget to dip them in hot melted chocolate and don’t forget to pick up more than one - we bet you’ll want to come back for more.

July and August are the hottest summer months in Spain, but we love kicking back on Spain’s beaches in May and June when the weather is still beautiful and there are fewer crowds along the coast.
Head to Spain in spring and early summer if you want to catch a fiesta or two, from local flamenco and food fairs, to Easter’s semana santa and the amazing castellers human towers of Catalonia.
If you’re after some Spanish sightseeing in the cities, the best time to visit is autumn, spring or even winter when the weather isn’t too hot and the summer crowds haven’t arrived.
Tap water is safe to drink in nearly all of Spain, so bring a reusable bottle and reduce your plastic waste. You can even find public drinking fountains to refill your bottle.
Spanish food is best enjoyed the local way, and you’ll have a ball visiting the local markets to find fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, olives and wine while chatting with the local producers.
