Loved the itinerary - it really hit the highlights of Italy. I loved the excursion to Lake Como, but would separate it from Milan - which is the only city I disliked and wouldn't return to. Hotels were nice but a little dated - they could use some updates. A few of the rooms were so small that opening the suitcases were difficult (since hardshell cases have to be fully opened), but it's also a very European style so it's understandable. For the most part, though, I enjoyed the different hotels and the experiences they each provided.
This trip was more than we could have imagined. Our tour guide (Maite) was absolutely wonderful. She was fun, informative, and incredibly helpful whenever we needed advice on where to go or eat. The bus was comfortable, clean, and our driver was excellent. We enjoyed the extra excursions and although the hotels weren't necessarily in the city center, we knew that going into the trip and were still able to find things to do even when we skipped the excursions. The only thing that would be nice is if you could take the bus to the city even if not taking the excursion (or do this for a small fee that would cover the insurance/gas that is being charged to the people on the excurion). Will definitely be booking Costsaver for our next trip.
Maite and Gianni were excellent. Top notch guide and driver. They were thoughtful, accommodating and helpful! We really enjoyed our Costsaver tour and they were a big part of it. Amazing itinerary- so much to see and do! Great little extras along the way!
The itinerary and excursions hit all the high points in which we were interested ... we liked staying in hotels multiple nights and branching out ... we enjoyed having access to wifi both on the bus and at the hotels ... the Tour Director, Emma Gillifan, and driver, Fabio, helped make this a most memorable and enjoyable trip
The Tour Director, Emma Gilifan, made the tour memorable and enjoyable ... she was friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, helpful, courteous and professional in every respect ... Emma arranged for exceptional and entertaining local guides where necessary ... our driver, Fabio, was exceptionally outstanding - he handled the most difficult driving tasks with expertise and confidence ... We would gladly join Emma and Fabio on another tour!
The hotel food in all the hotels except for the Wall Art Hotel Prato was awful. The staff was ok but not accommodating. Also the hotels were not convenient located to where we went site seeing and could not get back to easily on our own.
Travel to Europe often requires an overnight flight. Please arrange flights to arrive on or before Day 1.
Drinking Water: Tap water is safe to drink in all of the destinations on this trip. Please remember to bring a water bottle.
