No Bali trip is complete without a stop at the magical rice terraces of Tegallalang in Ubud. While there’s no shortage of gorgeous rice fields to see in Indonesia, Tegallalang really takes the cake. You’ll be amazed by the lush rice paddies glistening over the hillsides, plus there are jungle swings and walking trails for that perfect photo opportunity.
The spectacular landscapes don’t stop coming in Indonesia and we’ll take you to see Lake Batur, the biggest lake in Bali. It’s set inside a volcanic crater on the slopes of the iconic Mount Batur and is one of the most stunning places to see in Indonesia. With gorgeous views stretching for miles, there’s no better place to relax in nature’s beauty.
Out of all temples on the island, this one is extra special, and you can’t miss exploring Tanah Lot on your Bali sightseeing tour. We went to Ubud Market where we chose the freshest herbs, fruits, vegetables and spices, then headed back to the kitchen where the chef let us in on all the tips and tricks to whip up our favorite Balinese dishes. The best part? Eating it all, of course!

I admired so many batik paintings in the market so it was fantastic to learn about the batik process and take home such a special memento. We also visited a leather puppet maker and learnt about Wayang Kulit, a traditional puppet theater considered to be one of the highest artforms in Javanese culture.

All my eighties fantasies became a reality in Bali! We went full retro when we spent the afternoon touring Denpasar city and the coastline in a vintage VW kombi. I couldn't think of a better way to hit the Bali road and see all the beautiful sights!
If you love fried rice, you’ll adore Nasi Goreng, Indonesia’s answer to this famous dish. It’s made extra delicious in Indonesia with a dash of kecap manis, a sweet soy sauce that caramelizes the rice when it cooks. Top it with a fried egg, and you’ve got one of the world’s greatest comfort foods.
This traditional Indonesian salad is made with boiled potato, hard-boiled eggs, steamed vegetables, and fried tofu and tempeh, all doused in a tangy peanut sauce, with a handful of prawn crackers for extra crunch. It’s one of the country’s most beloved dishes and we’ll show you all the best places to try it.
Everyone goes wild for rendang, one of Indonesia’s most delicious creations. It’s made with melt-in-your mouth beef smothered in a gravy sauce made with a special mixture of spices, herbs and coconut. It’s an explosion of flavor and soon to be your new favorite Indonesian food.
Indonesia has something to offer 365 days of the year. Whether you want to explore the cities, hit the beach, or snap some stunning shots of the rice fields, there's an Indonesia trip waiting for you.
Bali is wonderful all year round, and we especially love the dry season from May to September when there is little rain and lots of sun.
Our favorite time to visit Java is from May to October when there is less rain, lower humidity and warm temperatures in the low 30°Cs.
The rice terraces are gorgeous all year round, but If you want to see them at their greenest, it’s best to visit before the rice is harvested, between March and April, September and October, or December and January.
Waste disposal is a huge problem for Indonesia and you can help out by using refillable bottles and bags to use throughout your trip.
Indonesia is a largely conservative country and it’s important to respect the culture by leaving the swimsuit at the beach, and covering your knees and shoulders at religious sites.
In Indonesia, it’s considered impolite to point with your finger, pass or accept things with your left hand, or touch people on the head as this is a sacred part of the body.
