The independent travel costs are compared against the base price of the Costsaver 15-day European Adventures tour (28th April 2024 departure). 

This trip includes

• 13-day tour visiting 7 countries and 11 cities 
• 12 nights accommodation 
• 12 breakfasts and 4 dinners 
• Private air-conditioned coach transport
• On-road crew of Travel Director and Driver 
• Orientation and sightseeing tour in all cities including cruise in Rhine Valley, walking tour with local specialist in Prague and cruise with private boat in Venice.

The calculations for the independent travel costs of accommodation and meals (per person) are based on equivalent standard hotels sourced on booking.com and an equivalent number and standard of meals as included in the Costsaver European Adventures tour. 

• 2 nights Amsterdam 
• 1 night Frankfurt 
• 2 nights Prague 
• 1 night Munich
• 2 nights Venice 
• 2 nights Brunnen 
• 2 nights Paris 

The included meal calculations are based on included hotel breakfast each morning (included in room rate) plus 4 dinners as well as a welcome drink, and local treats in Amsterdam with the standard 10% tip applied.

Independent private transport costs (per person) were sourced from Avis and are based on car hire for 12 days with excess insurance for a Nissan Qushqai car or similar SUV. 

Additional transport costs included in calculations:

• Petrol costs based on mileage on tour route (from airport in Amsterdam to airport in Paris)
• Parking, road tolls and travel passes required for tour route (from airport in Amsterdam to airport in Paris)
• An additional allowance for some taxis and public transport costs

Independent travel sightseeing costs (per person) are based on a guided city tour in each tour location plus Rhine cruise in Rhine Valley and Venice boat transfer, equivalent to those included in the Costsaver European Adventures tour. Prices sourced from various aggregate tour sites such as Get Your Guide and Trip Advisor.
