Essential Scotland Bucket List Items By Us

Our Scotland tours will show you all the best places to see and things to do in Scotland, from strolling along Edinburgh’s Royal Mile to soaking up the beautiful landscapes of Glencoe.

Royal Mile in Edinburgh

Walk along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh

Grab your camera and join your Local Specialist for a memorable journey down the most famous street in Edinburgh - the Royal Mile. It’s approximately one Scots mile long (or 1.81 kilometres) and you’ll follow in the footsteps of kings and queens as you walk from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Storr Hills and sea, Isle of Sky

Witness the Wild Landscapes of the Scottish Highlands

It may be a ‘wee’ country, but Scotland is filled with some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes. We’ll show you all the highlights, from the volcanic ruins of Glencoe and the moving ‘Glen of Weeping’, to the ancient Eilean Donan Castle and the peaks of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain.

Glasgow Cathedral, Scotland

Journey to Glasgow Cathedral

This stunning medieval cathedral marks the birthplace of Glasgow and is thought to have been built on the site of St Kentigern’s tomb… but this impressive building doesn’t stop there. It’s also one of the few churches in Scotland to survive the Reformation of 1560 unscathed. Today you can still admire the ancient carved stone and fine stained-glass windows.

Scotland Tailored By You

Tailor your ultimate Scotland trip your way with our range of Choice Experiences. Choose from adventures like cruising the 'Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond' and visiting a real Highland sheep farm.

Visit Harry Potter Filming Locations

Scotland is not only where J.K Rowling first began writing the Harry Potter series, it's also the home to countless Harry Potter filming locations. Consider yourself a hardcore HP fan? You best be heading to the Highlands to see such gorgeous sites as Glenfinnan Viaduct, Steall Falls, Loch Etive, Loch Arkaig, Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, and more!

Admire the Little Village of Torphichen

Enjoy a scenic drive to the ancient village of Torphichen, associated with Scottish kings and Knights Hospitallers. An ancient settlement, the village church can trace its roots to 400AD! Incredible! Following that, our hotel arrival was toasted to by our friendly host, and we enjoyed an excellent dinner of local specialities and entertainment.

Castle Of Eilean Donan, Scotland

Admire the Castle of Eilean Donan

Standing out on top of an island in the centre of three dramatic lochs, the Castle of Eilean Donan is one of the most popular castles in Scotland for its spectacular setting. Incredibly photogenic with colours of seaweed, the surrounding mountains and the mystical sky. It's easy to imagine all the mysteries which must have taken place within these walls... If only they could talk!

Haggis

Scotland’s famous national dish is traditionally made from sheep’s stomach stuffed with oatmeal, onions, spices and ‘sheep’s pluck’ including lungs, liver and heart - but don’t let that put you off. Served with tatties and neeps (mashed potatoes and turnips), this beloved Scottish dish has quite a tasty peppery kick. Give it a go and wash it all down with a dram!

Shortbread

This crumbly, buttery slice of heaven has been a favourite in Scotland for centuries. It began as a rare treat mostly enjoyed by nobles and royals as butter was a luxury item. Luckily for us, the ancient recipes have passed down through the generations, and now everyone gets to indulge in this delicious biscuit.

Whiskey / whisky

If you want to warm up in Scotland, the drink of choice is whisky. With a history stretching back to the 11th century, the Scots are masters of this iconic spirit. There’s nothing quite like tasting Scotch whisky in its homeland, and today there are over 100 distilleries in Scotland guarding the ancient traditions of the famous drop.

When is best to visit Scotland

How to Travel Responsibly in Scotland

Stay on the Path

If you’re going walking in Scotland, always stay on the marked path to avoid disturbing plants and animals in these precious ecosystems.

Be Kind to Wildlife

Scotland is filled with incredible native animals like badgers and red deer. If you see any wildlife, never feed them or approach them. It’s okay to watch from afar but it’s best to let them stay in the wild.
