Visit an Authentic Estancia in the Pampas

If you've ever wanted to find out what life is really like on an estancia (Argentinean ranch), here's your chance! We went to the Pampas where we visited an authentic 3,000-acre working ranch that dates back to the 19th century. Best of all, we got to share a barbecue lunch with the family of gauchos and watch a folklore show and horse demonstrations. It was a fantastic day!

Join your friendly local guide as they take you to find some of the best Argentina food in restaurants you can’t find on Google. Here, it’s all about superb steaks, fine red wine, and delicious desserts.

Steak

Steak is a big deal in Argentina. Whether you’re dining on prime cuts of beef in a fancy steakhouse or feasting on grilled beef from a traditional asado (similar to a barbecue) on the street corner, you’re sure to have some of the best steak of your life.

Alfajores

These heavenly shortbread cookies are the favourite dessert of Argentina. They’re made from crumbly, buttery biscuits stuck together with mousse, jam or dulce de leche (creamy caramel) and rolled in desiccated coconut. It’s melt-in-your-mouth goodness!

Red Wine

Argentinians know their steak, but they also know how to pair it with the finest red wines, and with nearly 30,000 vineyards in Argentina, you’ll have no trouble finding the right drop. We suggest starting with a bottle of Malbec, one of Argentina’s most famous red wines.

How to Travel Responsibly in Argentina

Watch Your Waste

Waste disposal is a big issue in Argentina, so always take your rubbish with you if you can, and use a refillable water bottle and reusable bags to cut down on waste.

Stay on Track

Help keep Argentina beautiful by always staying on the marked paths to avoid injury or damage to the plants and animals of the national parks.

Use Water Wisely

Most of Argentina is suffering from severe water shortages and you can help save water by taking shorter showers, turning taps off tightly and using towels and sheets more than once.
