      Hong Kong Highlights

      Your Itinerary

      1. Arrive Hong Kong (3 Nights)

Welcome to Hong Kong. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Kowloon and this evening perhaps choose to take an optional harbour cruise and dinner.

      Hotel
      The Cityview

      2. Hong Kong Sightseeing

This morning's sightseeing begins with an exciting funicular railway ride to the top of Victoria Peak. Reach the 373 metre summit on the iconic Peak Tram, which has been in operation since 1888. Take in the breathtaking views over the city and imagine the olden days when the locals used to carry the upper class colonials up by sedan chair! Next stop is Aberdeen Fishing Village for a sampan ride and a close view of the fishermen who live and work on their boats. This maritime community is home to the largest, gaudiest and most unique eateries anywhere; the floating restaurants. Perhaps the most notable of these is the Jumbo Kingdom which for over three decades has hosted dignitaries from around the world and been featured in several movies. Afterwards make a stop at a jewellery workshop for a behind-the-scenes look at the fine art of jewellery making before continuing to Stanley Market - one of Hong Kong's oldest settlements. Stanley is a picturesque fishing village on the southeast of Hong Kong Island. A century ago it was notorious for its pirates and smuggling activities but nowadays the village is best known for its market. Shopping in the bustling narrow lanes is always fun and there are many bargains to be found. Later return to the hotel. The remainder of the day and evening is at leisure.

      Optional Experiences

      Hong Kong Markets Walking Tour

Hong Kong has plenty of atmospheric street markets and shopping streets and as is typical in the region, there are entire thoroughfares dedicated to one type of product. We cover three of the most popular markets starting off with a short ride on the MTR (Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Rail System), accompanied by your Travel Director, to Mongkok. The first stop is Bird Street - a popular haunt for songbird supporters. The visually engaging Yuen Po Street Bird Garden is designed in the style of a traditional Chinese garden. The park has dozens of stalls selling exotic birds, beautifully crafted bamboo cages, porcelain water dishes and other bird-care paraphernalia. Then visit the nearby Goldfish Market, lined on either side with shops devoted to the raising of many types of fish, from weirdly shaped goldfish to colourful tropical species with gaspingly high price tags. The final visit is to the Fa Yuen Street Market - a wet market housed in the Fa Yuen Street Municipal Building. Here experience the sights and sounds of an old-school market with busy stalls selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood. It is a vivid and timeless world of food shopping that refuses to be extinguished by modern supermarkets! The price shown is in Hong Kong dollars.

      Adult Price: HK$620.00

      Lantau Tour with Vegetarian Lunch

Lantau Island is almost as twice the size of Hong Kong Island and is one of the most popular of the outlying islands. On arrival take a ride on the Ngong Ping cable car offering panoramic views of the South China Sea, the airport and the giant statue of Buddha. Visit Po Lin Monastery with the tallest outdoor seated statue of Buddha in Hong Kong and enjoy a Chinese vegetarian lunch served at the monastery. Later visit Ngong Ping 360, a cultural themed village with its wide array of shops and eateries before continuing to Tai O to take a boat ride around the quaint fishing village. It is home to the Tanka people, a community of fisher folk who’ve built their houses on stilts above the tidal flats of Lantau Island for generations. These unusual structures are interconnected, forming a tightly knit community that literally lives on the water. Their enchanting world is a photographer's paradise. The price shown is in Hong Kong Dollars.

      Adult Price: HK$840.00

      Macau Tour with Lunch

Only an hour away from Hong Kong by ferry, Macau was colonised by the Portuguese for 400 years before reverting to Chinese rule in 1999 and due to this it has a lovely Mediterranean atmosphere and charm. Visit the ruins of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church which dates from the 17th century and was destroyed by fire in 1835. All that is left of the once spectacular cathedral is the intricate stone façade at the top of a grand flight of steps. Miraculously, the fine art carvings and statues can still be seen on the surviving façade. Walk through the historic Senado Square towards the crumbling Monte Fort, which was once Macau's principal military defence structure and where several imposing cannons still remain. Visit the A-Ma Temple, which is one of the best examples of a Taoist temple. Legend has it that the Portuguese named the enclave A-Ma-Gao after the young and beautiful Sea Goddess who saved their ship in a storm. There will also be an opportunity during the day to go up to the Observation Deck of the Macau Tower for anyone wishing to (admission at own expense). The tower soars 338 meters above the city it is the 11th highest freestanding tower in the world. It dominates the skyline and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Macau cityscape, China, the Pearl River and even some islands of Hong Kong on a clear day. Lunch in a local restaurant is included. Please note that passports are required for this trip. The price shown is in Hong Kong Dollars.

      Adult Price: HK$1030.00

      City & Harbour Night Cruise

Start the evening with a relaxing pre-dinner cruise around Victoria Harbour, one of the world’s most impressive natural harbours. Take in the stunning buildings and landmarks that adorn both sides of the busy harbour as you glide past the Western district, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and the neon-lit entertainment district of Wan Chai. Enjoy unlimited free drinks (including alcoholic beverages) from the complimentary open bar on board and afterwards drive up Victoria Peak where dinner is served at ‘Bubba Gump’ – the highest restaurant in town offering a sweeping night view of the city and harbour. Later return to Kowloon for a visit to Temple Street Market; famous for its’ inexpensive bargains, fortune tellers and Chinese street opera performances. The price shown is in Hong Kong dollars.

      Adult Price: HK$870.00
